St. Helen's Elementary School

Following the identification of the existing school building as unsafe for continued occupancy, St. Helen’s Parish initiated a phased redevelopment program to provide safe, functional, and flexible learning spaces for its students. The first phase of the project involved the demolition of the former school building and the delivery of six new modular classrooms to support Kindergarten through Grade 4 students. The modular buildings were thoughtfully arranged around a new at-grade courtyard, creating an outdoor learning and gathering space that enhanced the overall school environment.

Building on the success of the initial redevelopment, the second phase of the project will provide an additional four classrooms through a new modular classroom addition connected to the existing school facilities. The expansion will further increase the school’s capacity while integrating with the existing campus and supporting the continued growth of the school community. The project requires careful coordination due to the active school setting, complex site conditions, municipal requirements, and the need to maintain ongoing operations throughout construction.

Westbourne Projects has supported St. Helen’s Parish and the Archdiocese of Vancouver throughout both phases of the project, providing project management and owner’s representation services from planning and approvals through construction and completion.
