Project Description
The VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation is redeveloping 900 and 990 West 12th Avenue to expand the Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) campus and support the region's growing healthcare needs. Strategically located across from VGH, the phased mixed-use development will deliver more than 800,000 square feet of healthcare-focused infrastructure, including specialized clinical and diagnostic space, a 280-bed long-term care facility, childcare, retail amenities, and new public gathering spaces.
Designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing hospital campus, the project supports Vancouver Coastal Health's operational requirements while creating a welcoming, patient-centered environment. Sustainable design features, including green roofs, solar panels, rainwater harvesting, and landscaped outdoor spaces, contribute to a resilient, future-ready healthcare facility that will serve the community for generations.
Westbourne Projects is providing project management services for this complex, multi-phased development, working collaboratively with the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation, Vancouver Coastal Health, consultants, and key stakeholders to guide planning, coordination, and project delivery. Through strategic oversight and stakeholder collaboration, Westbourne is helping deliver a landmark healthcare project that will strengthen regional healthcare infrastructure and support the long-term needs of the community.
